What research did you do before entering your current institution?

I am actually a bachelor of business marketing graduate from Australia. Upon graduation. I applied to study at Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia, as it is nearer to home, as I am a Malaysian myself. I’ve always enjoy baking and cooking, basically being in the kitchen makes me happy but I was told to complete my degree before pursuing my passion. It’s actually a funny story how i discovered Le Cordon Bleu, and what attracted me first was the smell of the food. While i was undergoing my pre-u at Sunway college, my classes were either the floor below or on the same floor as where Le Cordon Bleu was and still is. I would take my chance to pass by the demo rooms or kitchens to get to my classes while peeking into the classes to see the chefs in action and to get hungry to the smell of freshly baked goodies. And that was went I told myself, one day i want to be sitting in those chairs and to be in one of the classes. As soon as i finished my degree, i logged onto the Le Cordon Bleu website to enquire on the courses they offer as well as the intakes they have.

What attracted you to pick this institution?

Basically i chose to study here at Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia was because it was nearer to home and the opportunities we get upon being a Le Cordon Bleu graduate. And not to forget the skillful and passionate chefs.

How convenient is your campus?

Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia is right inside the heart of Sunway and located inside Sunway university and college, which is very convenient for students locally and internationally. As there are many options of accommodations, parking and food. And it is only about a 5 minutes walk to Sunway pyramid (mall) and Sunway lagoon (water theme park).

How would you describe your course to a 17 year-old?

Physically and mentally challenging. Every single second counts in the kitchen as timing in key. Aside from those, I enjoyed my time here as a pastry student. I’ve learned new techniques and to be creative with flavours. When you start to create something, it's like being in chemistry class all over again. Discovering what goes well with what and vice versa.

What words of advice would you give to those who are intending to pursue the same course as you?

If you are thinking to take up culinary just because it's ‘easy’, think again. Culinary is as tough as any other courses, just in a different aspect. But if food makes you happy and making or creating dishes makes you happier, this is the right course for you and if it has always been your passion like how it is for me, go for it and you will never regret this decision.

In your group of friends, what role do you play?

I definitely play the mother hen and the daredevil, as all my classmates are younger than me, and it is always in me to look after others and making sure everyone is okay. I am also adventurous especially when it comes to try and do new things or in my case taste new things.

Which movie or song title best describe your life?

Pretty Girl by Maggie Lindemann. The entire lyrics is basically me, parts of the lyrics for example would be “I can swear, I can joke, I say what's on my mind” which i can come across as a very straightforward person especially to those that crosses the line, other then that i am a very cheerful and friendly person and “Cause I'm not just a pretty girl, I'm more than just a picture, I'm a daughter and a sister, sometimes it's hard for me to show, That I'm more than just a rumor, Or a song on your computer, There's more to me than people know” this part relate a lot to me, as many people has assume stuff or has judge me based on appearance and pictures despite not even knowing who I really am or is.
