What research did you do before entering your current institution?
In my final year of high school, I had the opportunity to attend an education fair hosted in my hometown. There, the counsellor team from The One Academy explained to me in detail about the courses offered at the institute.
What attracted you to pick this institution?
I was amazed by the quality of artworks and projects showcased during that education fair.
How convenient is your campus?
Originally I studied at the old campus located around the shop lots. It was extremely convenient as there were so many food options as well as entertainment available. It was also easy to buy art materials as there is a shop right behind the main block. During my time of study, I lived in a dorm a walking distance from the campus. It was easy to attend classes and generally get around. I’ve also had the opportunity to experience the new campus located at Leisure Commerce Square and I like the fact that all classrooms, facilities and even the cafeteria are located in the same building. Since the BRT reaches the area, the new campus is still easily accessible.
How would you describe your course to a 17-year-old?
In my course, I got to learn various programs and skills related to the animation workflow, whether it’s for the game or movie industry. Aside from classes I took in my specialised major, I also got to learn a lot of fundamental drawing skills as well as 2D animation and concept design.
What words of advice would you give to those who are intending to pursue the same course as you?
Be like a sponge, absorb as much knowledge you can from the lecturers and course structure. Always aim higher than what you think you can achieve. Most importantly don’t lose your passion in what you love and always strive for your dream.
In your group of friends, what role do you play?
The easy-to-get-along-with guy.
Which movie or song title best describes your life?
I wouldn’t say it’s a movie but specifically an anime titled “Boku no Hero Academia”. I could relate to the endurance of challenges gone through by the main character in achieving his dream.
