What is it?

This course is basically about communicating to the masses visually. While you will study the visual, theoretical, historical and technical aspects of graphic design, the course also focuses on applied arts which use different media to communicate ideas and information in a visual manner.

What will you study?

This course emphasises the study of communication problems, for example, the analysis of problems; the development of creative solutions to effectively address these issues; and the implementation and evaluation of solutions. The curriculum will cover technical knowledge and practical skills in graphic topics such as imaging (photographic, videographic and motion graphic media), typography (the style, size, and arrangement of letters), textures, lines and colours. 

The use of computer software is an integral part of this course – while this will equip you with additional skills, it is your own creativity which will help you stand out.
