What is it?
Event management is the project management, creation and development of events like concerts, exhibitions, festivals and celebrations, large and small. It involves identifying target audiences, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and co-ordinating the technical aspects before carrying out the event.
What will you study?
You will learn about the role of an event manager from a practical perspective, with a strong focus on the project management of events and on developing creative and production skills. You will learn how to interpret (or prepare) an event brief and develop an event concept. You will also develop skills in setting goals and objectives from the event concept and design, and subsequently planning, scheduling, implementing, monitoring and reviewing, and delivering successful events. From the business aspect of the course, you will learn how to market and promote events, while also managing key financial, legal and administrative issues.

Communication studies; communication theory and concepts; digital media and communications tools; psychology; professional/news writing; interpersonal communication; leisure and event communication; ethics.
